Saunas, Mountains, River & the Stillness Between

Otherland isn't trying to be everything. It's trying to be exactly right.

What that means in practice: two private saunas unlike anything else in Vermont, a stretch of the West River that almost no one knows about, a fire pit at the edge of a meadow where the mountains fill the horizon, and room windows designed to make you stop what you're doing. These aren't afterthoughts. They're the reason the place exists.

Here's what's waiting for you.

Two Saunas.
Both Private.
Both Extraordinary.

We didn't want ordinary saunas. We wanted two saunas that earn their own conversation.

The Mirror Sauna

Designed by OOD House, the Mirror Sauna is clad in reflective panels that take on the meadow and sky around it. From a distance it seems to disappear into the landscape - present but invisible, like the best kind of architecture. Step inside: warm, still, entirely private, with a wide window looking out onto the Vermont countryside. Heat. Quiet. Nothing asking for your attention.

The A-Frame Sauna

The A-Frame Sauna is cedar and warmth and the particular intimacy of a space that feels made for you. The peaked roof comes low to the ground. The interior smells of wood and warmth. A window catches the Vermont sky. It is, simply, a beautiful place to be.

Both saunas are available exclusively for Otherland guests. Book a complimentary private slot and enjoy.

Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.
And when you go home, something in you relaxes, some ancient part of you remembers - you belong here.
You were made from this.
THE WEST RIVER

The River Belongs to You.

The West River runs along the edge of the property, and the nooks and quiet beach areas along its bank are kept just for you. Hidden from first glance and a short walk across the back lawn, past the meadow, and you're there - cold water, the sound of current, a stretch of Vermont riverbank that feels like a secret.

Sit with your feet in the water. Read on the bank. Wade in if the weather calls for it. The river has a way of making everything else feel quieter, and the walk back across the meadow is one of the better parts of an afternoon here.

THE FIREPIT

Where the Evening Goes.

Follow the path behind the hotel. The fire pit is there, ringed by chairs, open to the sky, with the mountains behind it. No program, no scheduled gathering - just a fire, the people you came with, new friends, and the particular quality of a Vermont evening that seems to stretch longer than it should.

THE LOUNGES

Spaces Made for Lingering.

The two common lounges are the warm center of the building - two cozy rooms with a large fireplace, comfortable seating arranged for conversation, shelves of books, and a collection of games for the evenings when no one wants to call it a night. Come here to read quietly in a good chair. Come to find yourself still talking an hour past when you planned to turn in. Both happen regularly, and both are part of the magic of being here.

THE OTHERLAND SHOP

Worth a Browse.

A small on-site shop stocked with provisions, locally sourced goods, and a thoughtful selection of things to take home. Run on the honor system of good taste - nothing superfluous, everything worth having.
